We then stroll to the Dutch Quarter, the largest ensemble of Dutch-style houses outside the Netherlands. I will explain why the king needed Dutch craftsmen and how they lived. Sanssouci means "without care," and that was the King's only wish here. On this walk, we explore the 300-hectare UNESCO World Heritage park. We discuss the King's philosophy, his love for dogs and flute playing, and his final resting place on the highest terrace.
You will see how architecture and nature blend perfectly in the "Friderician Rococo" style. We also pass the Historic Mill, which famously stayed in place despite the King's noise complaints, standing today as a symbol of justice and tradition in Prussia.

We visit the exotic Chinese House, a masterpiece of Chinoiserie, and discuss the "New Palace," the massive fan-shaped building at the end of the park. This tour allows for a much more relaxed pace and deep historical insights into the dynastic changes within the House of Hohenzollern.

For the ultimate history buff. This 7-hour grand tour leaves no stone unturned. We combine the Prussian royalty of the 18th century with the geopolitical drama of the 20th century. We will walk through three different parks and the entire historical city center.
Due to the length, we usually plan a lunch break in the Dutch Quarter or at a traditional German brewery. This is the most complete way to understand why Potsdam is a unique cultural landscape recognized by UNESCO. It is a long day, but one filled with incredible stories and breathtaking views.
